Alyssa Sheets & Alissa Scott are both wildlife and fishery undergraduate students, Their study is an ongoing analysis of the health of several tributaries that flow into the West Fork River. The study was first conducted in October and November of 2025. The streams initially sampled were Elk Creek, Tenmile Creek, Booths Creek, Bingamon Creek, Polk Creek, Stonecoal Creek, Jones Creek.  Polk Creek was deemed to have critical levels of fecal coliform per 100 mL (>2419.6) as well as Stonecoal Creek (250 MPN). This year they focused on fecal coliform in five streams.
