Alexandar Himes, an environmental engineering undergrad student with a minor in Geographic Information Science (GIS) focused his project on the amount of radiation that still remains in the water from well initially used. Primary using locations from northern West Virginia and Southern Pennsylvania after Marcellus Shale fracking operations exploded in 2010. Data from three different labs were analyzed to determine the parameters and understand the historical data analyzed in the way it was through an investigation into basic radiochemistry.
