This summer, Broke Sikole, Environmental, Soil and Water Sciences major, completed research as a SURE student with 3 Rivers QUEST. Brooke compared the 3 River QUEST monitoring program and other monitoring programs’ data to evaluate long-term trends in pH and TDS for the Monongahela River Basin. Through combining datasets, Brooke found that long-term trends were more identifiable and concluded future water quality monitoring efforts should be more collaborative to improve water quality monitoring consistency and data usability.
